Haleakala ATV Tours 3.5 hour Tour

Haleakala ATV's are located in Beautiful Kula, (upcountry) with the Zipline, and Pony Express all next to each other.

Haleakala ATV's had a continental breakfast ready for us, and then your off on your test run. It does take a minute to get used to the ATV's, but once your starter laps are done, your off. Keep in mind you must be at least 16 to drive one, but they do have 4 wheel drive jeeps that the younger children can still be a part of the tour.

You may want to think about paying the $5.00 for a rental set of overalls, because you get very, very dusty and dirty. Once the group gets going, it feels like your going fast, but really it's only 5-12 MPH, and you are usually in 2nd gear. The terrain, was rough, and there are plenty of hairpin turns to keep you on your toes. I couldn't wipe the smile from my face, as the dust was clouds covered my ATV. They make a few photo's stops, and usually very scenic, and have a place on the back of the ATV's for light storage.

A word of Caution, slow down Where the Cows roam, because I almost hit a cow, once the dust cleared. You stop for lunch at the half way point and then take a short hike, to see the start of the rain Forrest. The crew was fun, and worked well together, and then we headed back down the trail, homeward bound, with no stops and you can pick up the pace. This was really fun and I enjoyed the experience, the upcountry feel, and although you are really dirty, the smiles still keep on coming.
