Zippy's on Maui
On another note: Zippy's will take most business away for months. See, restaurants like Sheik's, Tasty Crust, Koho's, Maui Eats, L&L, Balei, Yakiniku House, Asian Cuisine all will suffer and it's too late for these guys to work on GOOD service and a smile. If they had been giving good service and a smile no matter what, I can bet you all their old timers would return right away to them.

"After reading the other posts, my experience has been totally different. Management was very friendly to us even allowed us a taste test of a pastry, that my sister and I weren't too sure of. The wait in the restaurant was no different from Honolulu. People give it some time. It is not easy to be overwhelmed by a community who has long waited for Zippy's to arrive. Kai 8 if you can do better in management or even as a worker to improve the organization of Zippy's than stop complaining and get in there and start doing something. Appreciate that everyone tries to do their best."

" Posted on: 10:15 am, today Save The new Maui Zippy's is truly Maui local. Poor planning, poor training, and inexperienced management has resulted in total chaos. Untrainable cashiers are computer illiterate and take 5-10 minutes to key in a simple order. There are no bus-boys or janitors, so the waitresses must bus their own tables, clean the floors, restrooms, and parking lot, which most refuse to do. The 'bakery' is contracted to S & J Bakery, so nothing is actually baked at Zippy's. I've heard horror stories of birthday cake orders 'getting lost' when you go to pick up. On our third visit, there was NO COOK, and I'm not kidding. Our first 2 visits resulted in upset stomach. There is no heat lamp in the window, nor an expeditor, so your food will be delivered COLD, because the waitresses can't figure out how to organize the orders in a timely manner. Useless double parking spaces will force you to park in the church parking lot next door. It's a popular place to be 'seen' by locals, but they're all complaining & it won't last long. Zippy's Oahu has sent temp waitresses over because the chaos is out-of-control, but that's not working either. Who wants to wait 1.5 hours for a simple COLD cheeseburger and COLD fries? What an embarassement to Maui!!! And we heard the GM is getting the ax.....Good ridence, send us a REAL restaurant!!! Where's Gordan Ramsey when you need him!!?? "

All Things Maui
"Sorry but zippy's has already given back most customers to maui eateries. Other resturants are back to normal just go see. precooked and sub standard steaks do not compete. On the plus side I do like the building, staff and bakery. Salads are good, coffee and rasberry iced tea is ono ! Bean soup,Chili and stuff that gets better by reheating is good, but not chicken ! We are 9AM to 2PM so have no idea about nite 24 HR service. Over all we rate Zippy's the same as any other Maui resturante. Just got to know what to order! Aloha, David n natalie"
